Scope of the workshop
This workshop, started in Aug 2011, is a series of meetings devoted to evaluating the implications of recent results from the LHC, and elsewhere, for TeV-scale physics, and to discuss the impact of these results on the future strategy for particle physics.
It continues the activity of the 2009 TH Institute "From the LHC to a Future Collider", whose findings were documented in arXiv:0909.3240.
The workshop activities will be focused around three working groups investigating different aspects of TeV-scale physics, namely
- WG1: Signals of electroweak symmetry breaking (conveners: S.Heinemyer, M.Kado, C.Mariotti, G.Weiglein, A.Weiler)
- WG2: Signatures with missing energy (conveners: R.Cavenaugh, J.Hewett, S.Kraml, G.Polesello) this page
- WG3: Other signatures of possible BSM physics (conveners: C.Grojean, D.Martinez, J.Santiago Perez, P.Savard, S.Worm)
The task of the working groups is to assess the possible interpretations of the experimental results in view of their implications for the future strategy of particle physics.
The results will be summarised in a document, to be submitted as input to the planned 2012 update of the European Strategy for Particle Physics. The participation and input of all those interested, experimentalists and theorists, is welcome and encouraged!

Meetings
- 3rd general meeting, 13-17 July 2011 at CERN (finalizing the report!)
- 2nd general meeting, 26-30 March 2011 at CERN
- WG2 meeting 31 Oct - 1 Nov 2011 at CERN
- 1st general meeting, 29 August 2011 to 02 September 2011 at CERN
Topics and tasks
- Phenomenology Interpretation, limits in constrained and/or simplified models versus general SUSY
- Implications for fine-tuning, natural SUSY
- Non-minimal SUSY
- What do the 7 TeV results imply for 14 TeV?
- where should we invest our resources?
- what do the 7 TeV results imply for future projects (LHC upgrade, ILC, CLIC, …)?
- Presentation of Experimental Results
- There is a clear need to find a consenus on how experimental results should be presented: sigma*acceptances, simplified model limits, additional CL contours, likelihoods …. ???
- Team up with the LH effort on presenting BSM results at the LHC to come up with an official recommendation
- Missed Analyses Categories
- Formulate a plan to identify and anticipate which analysis are not currently covered and are of high priority
If there are no discoveries by the end of the year, we need to coherently deliver a positive public message
